Looking back on the history of Australian cinema can help us to understand the nation’s past, as film plays an important role in recording social attitudes, politics and key events of their time.
In the Shadow of Terra Nullius is a retrospective look at the Australian landscape through the lens of Australian cinema. It aims to would like to provide insight and analysis into the history of how the Australian landscape has been portrayed on screen; and how these portrayals represent Australian history and have contributed to what it means to be an Australian.
